NAME
       pidof -- find the process ID of a running program.

SYNOPSIS
       pidof [-s] [-c] [-n] [-x] [-o omitpid[,omitpid..]]  [-o omitpid[,omitpid..]..]  program [program..]

pidof is a part of sysvinit, but it is too linux specific.
